VAMPIR- ART-BOOK (ORIGINS SERIES)

This project is part of the upcoming Vampir Origins Series, a collective art book exploring the darker layers of Balkan vampire mythology.

For centuries, the word vampire traveled across the world, yet its roots remain deeply buried in the soil of Eastern Europe. Long before the elegant aristocrats of Western fiction, the vampire of the Balkans was something far more unsettling. It belonged to the earth, to ritual, and to the fears that lived just beyond the edge of the village.

Vampir Origins Series is a visual exploration of those archaic myths. The project gathers interpretations of creatures, legends, and burial beliefs preserved in folklore throughout the Balkans. The artworks draw inspiration from historical sources, ethnographic records, and oral traditions that shaped the earliest understanding of vampirism.

The book cover itself represents the corruption at the heart of vampirism. At its center lies the “vampire core”, depicted in an archaic and almost organic form, a symbolic source of decay and transformation from which the vampire emerges. It reflects the idea of vampirism not merely as a creature, but as a corrupting force growing from within the body.
The series represents more than twelve years of artistic exploration, research, and experimentation with visual language rooted in Slavic and Balkan mythology.
This art book will be a collective work, featuring several artists from Eastern Europe, each bringing their own interpretation of these ancient legends.
For a final oucome, with the first 200 peaces, some 3d prints,sculpts will be included

The book is currently in production and is planned for release in September 2026.
