I wanted to share a bit of my off-time work with you.
Every now and then, I like to step away from production work and explore something different — it helps me stay balanced and not get too locked into one specific form of stylization.
Over the past few days, I gave myself a small ZBrush challenge: starting from a simple elongated cube and using only four basic brushes — all in subtract mode — I sculpted Pygmalion.
For Galatea, I took a different approach. Her form draws inspiration from Mestrovic’s elegance and the timeless grace of Greek caryatids — gentler, more curved, and fluid. It’s a contrast to Pygmalion’s strength: she’s the softer, breathing form born from his rough creation.
I actually have a few more pieces in progress that I haven’t shown yet — my plan is to print and cast them soon with the help of some friends. I’m leaning toward terracotta for now (bronze will have to wait a bit — that one’s pricey ).
Anyway, here’s what I have so far — hope you enjoy it!
