Muma Pădurii (ШУМСКА МАЈКА)

The mistress of the forest still instills fear and terror in the hearts of common people in some parts of Eastern Serbia. In Romanian folklore, Muma Paduri is considered a very powerful entity. She is often described as an old and terrifying hag, yet at the same time, a lustful middle-aged woman with long dark hair and big feminine attributes. Even today, she is called upon in basmas.
Muma Paduri sometimes referred to as Baba Paduri, is one of the four sisters, great Babas, which includes Baba Yaga, Baba Rogha, Baba Doyda, and Baba Paduri. All of them are daughters of the great Baba, an ancient goddess whose true name has long been forgotten.
Legend has it that Muma Paduri roams the forest at night, searching for young and beautiful men to seduce. Her sultry voice is said to lure them deep into the forest, where she unleashes her powers on them. Her long, dark hair whips around her as she moves through the trees, and her feminine attributes are often barely concealed by her flowing robes.
Despite her terrifying reputation, Muma Paduri is also believed to be a protector of women. She watches over them as they go about their daily lives, and it is said that if a woman is in danger, she can call upon Muma Paduri for help. However, she only reveals herself to those who she deems worthy of her protection.
To this day, people in Eastern Serbia speak of Muma Paduri in hushed tones, afraid of attracting her attention. They leave offerings of food and flowers at the edge of the forest to appease her, hoping to avoid her wrath. For Muma Paduri, the mistress of the forest, still holds immense power over those who dare to venture into her domain.
