Drekavacs were the most common creatures,in ancient time they were spreading all over Helm (old Balkans). They lived in dense woods, swamps, and near the streams, they can not ben seen in rural areas since all navish creatures must be connected to unspoiled ground and mother earth soil.Height of Howlers varies from 90 cm height to 1,20 m. When the age of man came so they start to live in small groups, far away from the human eyes and stay away from settlements and human-inhabited areas, but still in some parts of old Balkans, there are some exceptions.
Since the hand of man spead all over the land exodus of these navish creatures occurred. Now some of them, are settled near the riverbanks, trash disposal sites, and sewers, again far away from the human eyes and rarely visible.
